UK-Med is a frontline medical aid charity. Born of the NHS, we’ve been working for over 30 years towards a world where everyone has the healthcare they need when crises or disasters hit.

We are seeking experienced Surgeons who have advanced skills in managing general and trauma patients in stable and humanitarian zones. You will be able to make yourself available to travel and work internationally at short notice for a minimum of 3 weeks (longer availability of 4+ weeks is highly desirable).

Our ideal candidates will be fully licensed and experienced Surgeons, with a substantial background in delivering medical care to patients with diverse medical conditions but especially complicated patients. Proficiency in treating both adults and children is highly desirable. Previous experience in low-resource, humanitarian, and/or conflict environments is essential.

You must possess full licensure as a Surgeon and be registered with an appropriate professional body. A medical degree with specialized training in Surgery is required. The nature of the work means that you will have to cover a broad spectrum of surgical procedures, including general, trauma, plastics and/or reconstructive surgery.

We seek individuals who are determined, high-performing, compassionate, and collaborative, with a commitment to continuous learning and supporting others in their learning journey. Language skills are considered an advantage.

A positive and adaptable problem-solving approach is crucial, along with a readiness to deploy and support all UK-Med programs and projects.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits along with a friendly working environment and the opportunity to make a real difference.
